Garden pics and I my new gardening book

Hi Everyone, I had an excellent summer and I hope you all did too. I have been so busy I haven't been on the forum in a while.

Here are a few pics from around the yard

I also wrote a book on designing with tropical plants. Admittedly, this book is an introduction to tropical gardening. If you know anyone who admires your garden and want to start their own, this book is a great place to start. It has design strategies, plant profiles, and basic growing and winter protection advice. Please share this book. Let's make the world more tropical!

Thanks to everyone for all the help I received from this forum when I first started gardening.

Great pics! Your yard looks really incredible, I see lots of nice new plants and old ones doing great too. Congrats on your book, I'll have to download it onto my kindle and take a look at it!
The summer poinsettias look really cool! I've never seen them used in a landscape before like that, and I think it's an amazing look! How did you grow them to that size? Did you start them off as small plants or seeds?

I started seeds and grew them in 6"pots first. They grow very fast but are just plain green before they flower. Interestingly they were all different sizes based on condition. The ones in shade grew to 6" tall and flowered and the ones in full sun grew up to 4 feet tall.

Thanks for the info on the poinsettias! Sounds like they are really worth growing even if they do start out green.

Just noticed your Norfolk Island Pine too, it still looks really awesome. Do you still have your big Majesty palm?
