Nice pics! I dont think you will be able to keep them outside all year where you are. Maybe with craploads of protecton. Im in zone 5 too and its reeeaalllyy cold here in the winter. I do have lake effect weather here so maybe its a little more harsh. They are barely hardy to zone 8 i think. Ive been wanting some robustas and it looks like they sprout quick!
How long have you been gardening? Im only 13 years old and Im just a beginner. I have been growing plants for less than a year. I really like this website because of the nice people and the great advice.

Well thanks for the comment im 30 so I started probally around your age gardening, but this is my first time with palms, so im new to this site and the palm community; and yes this is a great place for advice the people are so nice and helpful. I will keep all of you posted on the progress of these W. Robusta seedlings.

Those seedlings look great! I hear they are a bit slow the first 2 years, but 3 years from now, you will definitely have a sturdy plant that is ready to take off. It might even be taller than you in 5 years!
What is your winter weather like? If you protect them, you could probably get away with keeping them in the ground for many years. They are cold tolerant only to about 20F before damage, but when they are tall trees, they can easily handle 10F in the southwest (they can't handle that kind of cold in the wetter winters of the east coast).

Well our winters are very cold here so thats what im afraid of when the mature so for sure ill be protecting them with light and such Yeah im here in New Mexico NW and it gets pretty cold like at least 10 F so wish me luck. thanks for the comment also im excited but of course patience is the key.
