My Tropics of Michigan Backyard

Well, we've made it through one of the earliest cools spells since I can remember. All the plants look in tact. We made it down to 44F this morning. Now, hopefully we'll get another 4-6 weeks before a frost hits.

Great pics!! I noticed a few leaves on your lawn in one of your pics. Is Fall starting to show on the trees yet, or did the leaves fall from more of a wind or rain type of thing.
Your yard is looking great and Im glad you avoided a frost by you. The Lakes help a lot this early in the year.

The leaves falling are because of a fungus on the Silver Maples due to all of the rain from remnants of Hurricaine Irene and early Spring Rain.

Our leaves here in SE Michigan usually don't start turning and falling well into late October and into November (most years).

Our first frost is typically the last week of Oct into the first week of November close to Lake St. Clair.
