Too late to plant in the ground for sure. It wouldn't hurt to put it in a larger pot though. They are hardy to about 15F so you will need some heavy protection if you're a 5a. FYI, the leaves will not get larger. Sagos flush out all of their leaves at one time usually 1-2 times per year depoending on where you live. They reach full size by the time the flush is finished. It's a fun thing to watch, it happens fast, usually within 2-3 weeks.

Hope that sago works for ya! I dont know about it surviving zone 5b. Im in 5b now and I would be scared to death of planting a sago palm here. You will have to protect is greatly. Here is a pic of a little sago palm in zone 8:

If you click on the "X" icon next to the refresh icon that will stop the loading of the page. If you push that, only the pictures that have already loaded will be on there. The pictures that have not been loaded wont load unless you refresh the page. I dont know if you do that but that is my only guess why you cant see the pic.
