| During the spring i ran to Home depot to look at some plants and i cam across a Washingtonia Robusta, Now the first question that came to mind was, will palm trees survive this far north ?. Anywho, rather the purchasing 5 or 6 of them i decided to just get 1 and kinda test the grounds with it. Well so far the washy is doing pretty good. Its grown 4 working on the 5 frond.
I went online and looked up info on washy's and it turns out there's different kind of washy's. Long story short i ordered 50 seeds of robusta's and 50 seeds of filifera. Amazingly, 1 or my robusta seedlings is growing pretty darn good and 5 of my filifera's doing the same. I looked up 5 years worth of our extreme low's and this area hardly ever goes down below 10 F. I think there's high hopes for these seedlings. i'll post some pictures soon |
