Homegrown figs definitely taste better than store bought!! Everything looks great! I wish my Basjoos grew half as well as yours. Mine stayed the same height all summer long even though they did grow 10 leaves. Now Im overwintering them in the ground, and we will see what happens. I wont be too devestated if I lose them because I dont have a lot of space, and there are other plants that would happily take their space and grow better!

I like the calla lily a lot too. Someone around here had calla lilies in their yard and I asked them if they came back, and they said that they dont do anything and they come back well. I think I'll add some calla lilies next year too since they are very interesting plants with beautiful blooms.

For where your at thats just amazing. I would expect to see a giant box over your entire yard for the duration of winter to keep all those plants alive.lol

Why haven't you had your basjoos in the ground? They are a piece of cake there, I would dare say no protection required at all. I would think by transplanting they struggle to establish for awhile, and even then never establish a full root system. Plus I hate digging bananas for the winter. Your only concern might be space. Make sure you pic a place with lots of room. In 3 years my mat has grown to 14 large "trunks" with dozens more little pups.

Thanks Chad. I wish I could throw a greenhouse over my whole yard. I wouldn't mind winter quite as much if I could keep a landscape going under glass and 72F while looking at the snowy landscape outside the glass.
