| The nut finally rotted away from my coco palm so i thought it was a good time to give a little update.
I purchased the palm almost exactly 2 years ago as a seedling on its 4th leaf. Its grown 8 frond since i got it and is increasing growth. |

| here it is today, the nut was so moldy i was worried the palm might be in danger. So i dug 4 inches below the crown and replaced with fast draining red lava rocks. looks cool too! |

| Looking good :) Did the shell come off easily with no root damage? - US_Marine |

| I had to use a screwdriver to split the nut first. it was starting to decompose so it was relatively easy. only a few small fibrous roots were damaged. |
