Just so you know.........Spindle Palms

About three weeks ago, I decided to split up a 3 plant pot of spindle palms. The roots were all grown together and so I thought I would soak it in water and try to tease them away from each other. That part did not work, so I took a pair of cutters and went to digging. I cut roots, hacked roots, I butchered it, but I made out with 3 plants that I potted up and placed in the shade. When I say I cut roots, I mean cut them up, big, little and in between.

So, 3 weeks later, all plants are still green and look the same as when I split them up. No growth yet that I notice, but each plant did have a new leaf starting to shoot up. So if this experiment works, at least I will know that you cant hurt spindle palm roots. I will post a picture later.

So if you need to split a spindle palm pot of plants, go for it. I think mine will make it just fine.
