My neighbour has a mother of a sago Palm with about 20 "pups" and the pups are so old now they are upto 6' across. I've cut two of them off as low to the ground as possible today and where I've cut them which is just below the tip where they flower the wound is slimy and white in colour. I've read before to trim all the leaves off these pups so they don't use the food inside the crown and also to let them "harden" for a week so that the wound isn't White and slimy which is to stop fungus I guess! So I've done all this and I'm going to wait a week for them to harden so I can put them inside some pots of soil and hopefully they will grow roots and eventually leaves aswel. The crowns which I have are about 10" in diameter aswel.
