Yellow fronds on Bismarckia palm

Posted by land-escaper Florida (My Page) on

I planted 2 3gal. Bizzies in my yard 5 years ago. Both have done very well and are now 12 to 15 ft. oa. Only occasionaly a new frond, on only 1 of them, will come out yellow and then turn to normal blue/silver. Have read 1 posting that this is normal but if so why always on just the 1?

RE: Yellow fronds on Bismarckia palm

I can only grow these guys as containerized indoor/outdoor palms (zone 7 here) but I have never seen this happen with mine.--Their color always looks good from the get go. I wonder if it's related to soil pH or lack of micro-nutrients. Good luck!
