Goodbye to a year of records for Michigan

Well this past year in Southeast Michigan brought us all-time records, both the hottest summer ever, as well as the wettest year on record. Both great conditions for palm growth. A few winters ago, we had the warmest winter ever. Hopefully the new year will bring another warm winter and great growing conditions for our tropicals, and hopefully all these changes are preludes to more of the same. Happy New Year everybody.

Same here in s. florida . Last year was coldest duration with lowest daytime high. 41 for 3 days. This Dec was warmest on record.. Rain was either waay too much or not at all. Playing havoc with my winter strawberries.
All fruit has been aborted due to the heat Also lost half the transplants for same reason!!! If no fruit by mid Feb there won't be any . First real COLD front starting tomorrow so there is hope lol. On a positive note winter flowering orchids are FANTASTIC this year though still recovering from last years ice age lol
The great joy of gardening is trying tooo second guess the weather. No matter how you figure you're wrong lol gary
