Everything looks nice and warm inside those enclosures. We're still waiting for our first snow. Maybe we'll get lucky and have another mild winter.

Everything looks covered and ready for winter! I just covered my palms on Friday to prepare for the snow we were supposed to get on Saturday. We ended up with a very light coating of snow after the sun set and rain all afternoon long, but with the cold coming next week, I'm glad I finally got the palms covered and dry. Some plants are still kicking though. My geraniums have lots of buds, the begonias still have some greenery, and the lantanas also have a good amount of buds. Coldest so far is 26F going down to 18F next week with a high of only 26F one day! Hopefully the forecast ends up being warmer than currently predicted, but the numbers have only gone down in the past few days.
    Winter is definitely here.

Everything looks cool lit up at night. I like how it all glows.

You and I had the same idea with cutting the tops off rose cone covers and stacking them for more height. That gets expensive though, as I had to use 3-4 covers for some of my palms. Too bad they don't make extra large covers...

Looking good and safe for winter!

    Thanks guys-

    Ryan,

I just got lazy(actually I was sick and running out of time/energy),
I really wanted to add tops on the covers so the leaves
would not get damaged but i just had to cover them to fast.
Winter is very slowly ratcheting the temps down and
taking over more and more realistate with that dreadful
    white carpet!

I have to admire your fortitude and determination, but those scenes just look so extremely painful! 8-(

    Yea Mike

The plants on either end (Washy,Butia,Takil, west)all are on the Thermocube
and the T.ferns,T.Martianus on the east side are on a Thermocube.

All the rest I turn on/off the heat myself.

I just peaked at the Princeps and gave the spear a tug,
it looks perfect in there so far-can't wait to see it take off next year!

I don't like the look of all the snow either but if
the forecast is right,it should be gone soon...until next time-
have to go through some cold days yet though....
