Edulis & Alata? Also, how invasive is 'invasive'?

I really, really have enjoyed the passion vines I've had (Caerulea now and incense in the past), and I'm hoping to grow more. Thing is, in the past, I've grown them in an almost-entirely concrete yard where their more expansive tendencies have been curbed. I'm now moving to a regular yard & am wanting to grow more. How concerned do I need to be about their spreading? Can I grow them in the ground on trellises & root out the occasional pop up or do I need to keep them in pots lest they devour the neighborhood?

Also, I'd like some fruiting varieties & have teeny edulis seedling & am wanting to try my luck with an alata (Gorgeous flowers & a while back, a gardener was singing the praises of its fruit). Will they cross-polinate & fruit or do I need to get another variety as well/instead of?

*There is a passion vine peeking over the fence, and I think it's a Caerulea, but I won't swear to that & don't want to have to count on my unknown neighbor keeping it)
