i would love to see the results of this experiment. personally i think your passi is growing slowly because it's winter now so the combination of short light cycle and colder temperatures have slowed down the growth. where are you growing it? under lights? i'm assuming inside because of your zone. I know my passiflora completely stopped growing as we got into winter here, but i assume it will pick up again with spring. also you should know that it will quickly outgrow the aerogarden, but you could try starting it in there.

I will leave a follow-up post whenever I do get the P. edulis started in the Aerogarden--but it may be a while. I planted some Strawberries on 1/3 so they're still pretty small. I just bought this thing so I wanted to try something semi-normal until I got the hang of it. Does P. edulis grow that fast under optimal conditions? Yeah, I have it indoors and I actually have it in a small pot sitting underneath the Aerogarden light while the strawberries are still small and there is room. So it should be fairly warm and it gets light from about 8 AM to midnight so I don't really know what the issue is. I used potting soil straight from a bag--I've read that it is best to include sand and other soft mediums due to tender roots. I'm a college student though so soil was all I had available...... haha.
