P. edulis leaves?

Hi -- I'm growing some P. edulis aeroponically... but just out of curiosity, each leaf has two little green buds right in front of it, on both sides of the stem, that seem to be leaking (just a tiny bit) some sort of clear liquid. I've never noticed this sort of structure in any other plants -- what are those things called?

Those would be petiole glands. They secrete a sort of nectar that ants seem to love in my yard. Some Passiflora also have nectar glands on the leaf itself, and on the bracts.
