flowering habits by color

I overwintered p. caerulea and p. coccinea in an east window. The blue flowered on and off, then took a break, now is covered in buds for a springtime show. During the summer last year it bloomed nonstop. The red gave me only 2 blooms last summer. Now, however,it has maybe a dozen buds on it. The red flowers are spectacular and something worth looking forward to. I'm wondering if it prefers to bloom in spring and I should expect such a poor performance this summer again, or what to expect? I'm looking at a coral one in the Parks catalogue that pledges to bloom nonstop like the blue.
