I have a mature passion flower vine that is producing numerous buds, only a few of which bloom with most of the pods just falling off without blooming. What's my problem? Thanks.

Have you seen any of those shield bugs around? Or any other kinds of beetles? Some inject thier toxin into the flowers and it makes them fall off. Found a bunch in my bellotti last year. I was wondering why the buds kept dropping... You can spray them with soap oil spray or take a cup of soapy water out and knock the bugs into it.

If you have an idea as to which Passiflora is it, that would make it much easier to diagnose. How about pictures? Eric
