trim or not to trim?

My passionflower vines have been going nuts in a window since about February. Just today I've put them outside to grow up a railing and cover a view, which is what they did all last summer. My question is that some of the vines have gotten to be 7' long and I wondered if I should trim them back now they're outside or let them continue to grow? The vines are loaded with flowerbuds. Also, the pots are about 10" and needing watering very frequently with all this growth, but they have to come back in again in September so I don't really want bigger pots. What to do?
