When to give up on Passion Flower coming back

Posted by TNVirginia 7, SE TN (My Page) on

I had a volunteer passion flower vine appear in my backyard last year. As soon as I realized what it was, I fenced it in to protect it from the dogs. It flowered and fruited beautifully and was a buffet for lots of caterpillars.

I'm in zone 7 and haven't seen the first sign of it coming back this spring. When does it usually sprout? Should I give up and buy one from the store?

It's still early. I have P. incarnata alba in my yard and only 2 have come up - be patient.
