Request for help with Incarnata

While I'm an avid tropicalesque gardener, I'm a newbie with these plants......and I think I'm killing them :-(

They've been in the ground for about six weeks and while the vines are growing like gangbusters up a trellis, the leaves that are produced are very small, misshapen and are quickly covered in yellow spots. Also they aren't flowering.

They're in full sun all day (maybe the problem from reading some posts?). The soil ph is 7.3, they get regular water since I presume they're still establishing the root system and I added a slow-release balanced fertilizer about two weeks ago.

Thank in advance for any ideas!

Lisa
