blooms for a day... normal???

HI

I AM NEW TO PASSIFLORA. I HAVE A LAVENDAR LADY, CONSTANCE ELLIOT AND INCENSE. THE FIRST TWO HAVE BEEN BLOOMING BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS BUT THEY ONLY LAST ONE DAY. IS THIS NORMAL? AM I MAYBE OVERWATERING OR GIVING IT TOO MUCH SUN? WHAT CAUSES THIS?

No need to shout, Gretchen. We can hear you just fine.

Most passiflora species flower for only one day. Some, like p. foetida, flower for only half a day. Last summer I had a few Incense blossoms stick it out for a second day, but they were few and far between. That's just a trait of the genus, and we just have to live with it.

Can anyone tell me if the fruit of this plant is edible? Thanks

You won't die from it.. Pretty much all (that I know of) are "edible".. Some I wouldn't call "palatable" tho. Caerulea for example. It's not so good.
