More Hybrid Seeds!

yesterday I picked my oldest "pink princess" fruit because I'm impatient & wanted to see if there were any seeds inside. I'd crossed it with my caerulea some time ago... ANd I'd heared the fruit might be empty... Seeing all those fruit hanging there finally got to me so I picked one.

When I opened it- There's about 20 seeds inside. So I'm gonna plant them this afternoon. Then a whole 'nother waiting game will begin... Will it sprout? Will it grow? Will it flower?

Sheesh if I couldn't wait for the fruit to drop or wrinkle imagine my frustration waiting for all that to happen!

I hate to 'tick you off' as we say in UK but you must let the fruit drop and even then leave them for a few days in a sunny location to maximize your chances of the seed being viable. That said some fruit (not violacea) do not drop-but even then the peduncle (stem) going to the fruit should have dried up letting you know that it is safe to pick it.

Yeah.... I know.
But I was afraid the fruit was empty, was curious if there were seeds inside.. I'm impatient.. There's lots of fruit on it...

I'm gonna leave the rest hanging till they wrinkle or drop.
The ones on the lady margaret are still there.. Hanging.. I check them every couple days and they're still hanging there.. Ripening.. Slowly.. Very Slowly..
