I am trying to get help with identifying a "weed" or seed(ling) and can't figure out how to upload the picture. I have read the instructions for adding a picture to a forum posting and can't figure it out. Krstofer, if you (or anyone out there) that posts pictures (all the time...which makes me look really stupid) can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Dee

It's pretty easy once you know what has to be done... First you have to get the image onto the internet somehow- I have a couple servers so I just put the picture I want to show on one of mine and post the link. You can search for free image host and use one of those.. Or email it to one of us who has a server. (easier for you to find your own "hosting" tho as I'm not always around to post pics for folks) Once you get space on a server somewhere, put your image on it (it's called "uploading") then you can use the "Optional Link URL:" below to post a link to the image, or write some HTML code to make the image pop up here. For example, if I wanted to post this image first I would upload it, then I would go look at it in my browser, then copy the URL of where it is. THe URL of this example is: http://krstofer.org/plants/passiflorasunburst.jpg (It's what's in the "location" field at the top of your browser) Then if I wanted to make the image appear here I'd type (img src="location of your image ") which in this example would be (img src="http://krstofer.org/plants/passiflorasunburst.jpg") And when you've done all correctly you should be able to see your image in the "preview" section of your post, and when your done the image should pop up: Just like that.

Thanks Krstofer. I knew you would take the time to help me out. Thank you. I will try. Dee

I've hit a snag. I'm using Snapfish as a place to upload the image. While at Snapfish, viewing the uploaded picture, I copied the address and then pasted it into the optional link URL. When I checked it, the link takes me back to Snapfish's homepage where you log in. I've missed a step somewhere.

They may not allow "hotlinking".. It's when you store an image in one place, and view it from somewhere else. Porn sites are famous for doing that, hence the ban sometimes. SOunds like your doing it right, but if it isn't working.. Yeah you missed a step somewhere.
