Antioquensis seedlings died

Within 2 days of each other my antioquensis seedlings just started shriveling up and ultimately died. They were both small, on their 3rd set of true leaves and were looking perfectly healthy. The wilt set in very quickly and killed them within 48 hours. After the first one died I checked the soil and saw what appeared to be fungus gnats but the roots looked fine. We have had extremely hot, humid weather for the past couple weeks and around 100 the past few days. They have been in filtered light and had not dried out. None of my other seedlings look bad but they are all much bigger then those were. Anyone have any idea why they died? That was the last of my antioquensis plants. The birds got the others : (
