I don't have anything to trade yet Wahhhh!! So is that how big the fruit gets. Only 1 1/2-2 inches? How did you know that was ready to open? I have a few passis now and trying to grow more from seed
I knew the fruit was ready because it fell right off, and the color helps too. It starts to turn greenish yellowish. That is the average size for the fruit on this vine.
P. coccinea is considered to be self-incompatible. It is possible it selfed, but more likely something nearby provided the pollen. Are there P. incarnata in the area? If so, then maybe these seeds will produce another Lady Margaret.
Abdielg, forgive me if this sounds condescending, because it's not meant to be. I know you're fairly new to passiflora and trading, so there might be some term confusion at work here.
You have multiple coccinea plants over there, correct? If so, they cross-pollinated each other. "Self-pollinated" generally means that one single plant pollinated itself, which coccinea has never been shown to do. If one of your coccineas pollinated the other, then you'll have pure-strain seeds. But that's not considered "self pollination."
