How to keep pests from fruit?

I have finally had success cross pollinating my passiflora. Had two nice fruit growing, the first one aborted, the second was taken by some sort of vermin. I had it covered with cheesecloth. What is the best way to keep pests away from the fruit? Thank you.

Small cloth bags with pull strings work really well. Nylon organza bags are widely available in many sizes, and work great. If you tie the strings around the shoot, the fruit will not drop to the ground when ripe. They can also be used for keeping out pollinating insects when doing controlled pollinations.
