Living with incarnata in zone 7

Hello, this is my second summer with an incarnata. Can this vine be trained to be a good citizen in a small garden without being confined to a pot? My idea is that it should grow along on a trellis parallel to the walkway. Its idea is that it should colonize the azalea hedge behind it, tunnel under the walkway and colonize the azalea hedge on the other side also.

Will it continue to get more aggressive each year?

I'm wondering if I could hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. What did you do?

Yes, it will probably continue to try and grow any where it can, and not where you want it to grow. I have acres of it. Mowing seems to be the only thing that keeps it in check. You could possibly control it with a root barrier of some sort, although in your case, it is probably too late to contain it.

Thanks kiwi, I'm going to try growing it in a pot sunk into the ground. Looks like I'll be fighting a long battle with the roots left in the bed. Next time I'll ask for advice before I plant!!!
