Bandit, it depends on what you want. Certain species and hybrids will sucker aggressively. Cutting or mowing them won't hurt the parent plant. If you want to trade or give away plants, it's a simple thing to dig the suckers up and transplant.

If you leave them, they'll grow up big and bushy like their parent, so location is a consideration.
