Howdy Mary,

This plant should be happy with lots of sun, and treated for the most part, like a P. 'Purple Haze' or P. 'Blue Bouquet'. However, that being said, we did have a similar experience last summer, with ours dying spontaneously. We have narrowed it down to 2 possible reasons for it's death. Either it is very unhappy with root disturbance, especially during hot weather, or it is a water hog. We run almost everything on automatic drippers, and for some plants, (especially when transplanted in the summer), that is just not enough.

I hope one of these things rings true for you as well, and you have the ability to remedy the situation, and grow another of this very nice plant.
