You can grow them pretty much anywhere, *if* you have room to bring it inside in the winter- Most cannot survive snow. I had 5 or 6 when I lived in upstate NY (Watertown, Ft Drum area~> I was a FAC before my career as a wheelchair tester) They spent summers outside & winters inside in various windows. They exploded in the summer so I had to slice & dice in the fall to make them fit in the house- but they all survived a 4 year tour.
