Am I the only person that can't grow passi's?

Hi, I'm getting very discouraged. I can grow virtually anything, but I've lost more passion flowers than I care to admit. I generally started with small, healthy mail order plants. They live and grow for a while then slowly decline and die. Happened at about the same time last summer as is happening now. I have them planted around a lovely trellis in mostly sun, some shade from some cabbage palm. I've attached a picture of the trellis. Cannas, Ti plants, gingers, hibiscus, etc all thrive in the flower bed. They get a medium quanitity of water, I'd say, about 3-4 times a week, and occaisional fertilizing. I've lost a subrosa, two ruby glows, an edulis, a citrine, and a quadrangularis. The only one currently hanging on is a St. Rule and it looks pretty lame -- has not bloomed. I am at a loss as to what could be causing the problem. I've not seen any bugs or signs of disease. Any tips?
