immature fruits

The owner of the lot next door has given me permission to transplant the P. incarnata vines growing on the lot, but he used a weedtrimmer this morning and (probably unintentionally) cut down most of the vines. Most of the vines had some fruit, from the size of a small lemon to bigger than a jumbo hen's egg. I opened a few, and the seeds are well developed althogh the pulp is still sour in the small ones, and all fruits are green.

Is there a good chance the seeds would be fertile?

Someone has advised me to let passionfruit shrivel up before removing the seeds - she said this increased germination rates. Any comment?
