Overwintering passiflora caerulea

I've been digging up this plant and growing it indoors for several years. It needs constant hacking back (I don't have a good exposure for it), climbs on everything, sheds leaves everywhere, and though I love it outside in the summer, I hate it indoors over the winter months.

Mine is, despite nite time temps in the 20s, blooming outside on the SE side of my garage. I was wondering if I could cut it back, dig up it's roots, and overwinter it downstairs in the same manner I do with my dahlias, water lilies, four o'clocks, caladiums, etc.

Has anyone done this?
