There is no reason to take a peony in for the winter at least not where you and I live. Plant it in the ground now while it is dormant, there is nothing to be gained by waiting for new growth. Be sure not to bury the new buds or it might not ever bloom. It probably will not bloom this year and maybe not next year. Once blooming starts it will bloom every year for many years. Al

i have cut tight peonies from the bush and trying to force them open .any tips?

Wait for the buds to to begin to open before cutting. Bud should feel spongy, if cut too soon they may not open in the vase. Next time make your own post rather than bringing forward a post several years old, and you will get more help. Al
