I saw this Peony a solaris peonies,
And I'm wondering if anyone has it or knows more about it.
It doesn't say if it's early mid or late blooming,
It is very expensive Just want to know If it's worth it.
Thank's Olga, |

I don't know Lollipop, but any intersectional peony (a cross between a herbaceous and a (woody) tree peony) is expensive. It seems that Solaris has some of the better prices available on intersectional peonies. You'd be getting a very rare and unusual plant, and probably a strong, vigorous grower that could be divided a few years hence and shared with your plant friends. Roger Anderson is a heck of a plant breeder. He introduced 'Bartzella', which I think is the best peony I've ever seen. You could email or call Solaris with your questions - they could tell you what they have seen. I've never bought from them but have met Nate in plant geek meetings and he sure seems like a straight shooter. |

| Geez - I just noticed that you list yourself as Zone 8. While most peonies are listed as suitable from zones 4-8, peonies (both herbaceous and tree) need a certain amount of winter cold ("chilling") to do well. If you do not already have some peonies that are doing well (or have local friends or neighbors with peonies), you may be better off planting a more inexpensive peony first to see how it performs for you. |

Thank's for the responses, I e-mail them and was told it's a early bloomer which is what I need to have. I have ( Herbaceous ) Coral & Gold and it's a mid. anything more and it get's to hot ! I look forward to this year to see what all will bloom for me. Some I realize were planted to deep, I will admit it takes so much patience ! I will post photos on my flickr for sure. Olga, |
