bloom time after transplanting

I transplanted 3 peonies as they were getting crowded and last year did not bloom as prolifically as the previous year. I know that peonies take several seasons before blooming, but does this hold true for peonies that have flowered for several years and have been transplanted?

Your experience after transplanting is normal and should be expected. Al

RE: bloom time after transplanting

I've had varied experiences transplanting peonies that have been bloomers. Some have bloomed very well the next spring, some have had a small amount of flowers, some have taken a year off.

Peony flowers are always worth the wait!
