I bought Shirley Temple several years ago. When I read different catalog discriptions though, I sometimes wonder if mine is really Shirley. Some catalogs state that it is white, others that it opens pink & fades to white. Mine is light pink that fades to a lighter pink. Mine is very fragrant & blooms quite heavily.

The color varies. Mine normally bloom white with a splash of red somewhere on the bloom. Occasionally the bloom looks a very light pink, or partially very light pink. I've had mine since 1998, and it's never been divided. It has large fragrant blooms, but I wouldn't say mine is a heavy bloomer...

tracey, beautiful photos. I will be very, very happy if mine look like that. I will be happy with ngraham's lt. pink color too. I am so pleased with these two little cheapies. They are growing like gangbusters in their pots. Look like 2-year old plants.

I planted this peony last year - I was expecting it to bloom pink as described on the label. Mine is white like above...but lovely. I thought it had been mislabeled...it seems not.. I have a nice photo posted on my gardening blog. Just follow the slide show..

I bought a Shirleyu Temple peony approx 6 years ago. It has been in a south facing garden since then it has foliage every year but is yet to flower. Any ideas or suggestions would love to see how it blooms. Bought as white to compliment pink and red varieties

If my Shirley Temple is true, then the flowers are not big at all, but average in size. They are white with occasional red flecks(like Festiva Maxima). It has nearly no fragrance, but it is my absolutely favourite peony of all. It blooms reliably each year and IS STORMPROOF! No staking at all!! It receives only morning and late afternoon sun.The blooming is longer than average as it develops several side buds(but with even smaller flowers)
