The lavendar could be a single flowering peony originating from Prof Saunders but more likely it is just a name for marketing purposes. There is a cultivar with using that name but since it is very expensive when you can find it I doubt if it is being sold at Sam's Club. Several nurseries had it for sale last year but can find none currently selling it.

It's probably just an unnamed lactifloria peony mass produced in china or some other country.It may turn out to be a nice plant.I would say its not a hybird from Saunders espically coming from a club store.

Thanks, I doubted I would be able to find a name. For $8 a plant, figured it was worth a shot. Will wait and see what comes.

If it is nice, it will stay in the front bed. If it is icky, I will get planted down back. (just like I cannot throw a book away, I cannot throw out a live plant just because *I* don't like it)

Hi - I saw some peony roots in a bag
at Sam's too. Thought about getting some,
but when I got to check out - I had
forgotten to go back & get some. But, then
I had to go to Walmart and get some stuff
for Grandson - WOOOWWW! They had nice size
peony roots in bags for 1/2 price. So, I
picked up a couple of Karl Rosenfield -
it has the red blooms! Can't wait to see

You can't beat the prices at Sam's & Walmart!!! Although a few of their roots I bought were mislabled, the medium pinks I got (probably Mons. Jules Elie) worked better in my overall garden than the pale ones I thought I bought - I tend to get way too many of the delicately-colored ones anyway.
