peonies in california mountains, lake arrowhead?

Sorry if i'm being redundant, there are too many threads to search through to see if this question has been addressed...

i am moving up to lake arrowhead (southwest side, by Blue Jay) and wonder if i can grow any kind of peonies there? (hope, hope...)

Not being familiar with the climate of Lake Arrowhead, if you have at least 400 hours of winter temperatures below 45 degrees you should do well with any peonies you choose to plant. In most of California an elevation of 2500 feet or more will easily be cold enough. Be sure to plant in full sun and be prepared to provide ample water. Peonies are not a drought tolerant plant. Al
