You did not state how large your peonies are but if they are normal size just pot in a regular pot since peat pots of that size are fairly expensive. Another method is to get a cardboard box put couple of inches layer of potting mix or what have you on the bottom then put peonies on top of that, cover with more material. Water until moist.

I left some of my purchases in an open frame this winter and most are doing nicely using this method but the sooner you have them planted the better. If you just purchased they probably will not bloom this year or even next as they are not an instant gratification plant.

Hey thanks!! I realized that after I posted that it was a little dumb. I am blaming it on the fact that I have never had Peonies and they intimidate me like roses intimidate others LOL. But the 2 I have are with 2-3 eyes pretty good roots (Bare). The others have yet to arrive. I guess my main concern was if they have fussy roots that don't do well with being disturbed. I am aware that I may not see flowers on them for a couple of years, sadly. I hear they are worth the wait, though.

Since one of the methods used by some to dividd is to shove a spade into the clump like you slice a pie most are not fussy. Depending on who you ordered from you may not recieve the others until fall which is the normal time to plant. Nurseries do carry them at this time of the year but most were dug last fall and overwintered in warehouses.
