Planted peonies in CT

I finally got around to planting the peonies I ordered from BloomingBulbs. It was a beautiful day and my husband dug up the holes for the roses. The peony roots were kind of small so I was able to get to those.

Here is what I planted in all:

8 bare root roses
15 peonies
24 stella d'oro daylilies
6 white daylilies
15 astilbes
12 phlox(es)

I have a heck of a sore back today, but the joy of knowing that you invested your time in something that will grow for years to come, surpasses the pain. :-)

The size of the peony roots is one of the reasons that many gardeners do not buy from Blooming Bulbs.

Congrats on your new garden.
