Mediterranean Peonies

I had such great luck finding Mlokosewitschii with help here, I'm hoping someone might know where I can get some of the species peonies, particularly P. rhodia. I've never been able to find a US source for them. I'm interested in other species from the Mediterranean as well, and have been for years but never find them listed anywhere. I'm wondering if they might be too tender for most Peony nurseries to grow in the midwest, or if it's for some other reason they're so difficult to find.

Ron,
I did not see your P. rhodia available but if I have linked correctly you can ask this company.

Here is a link that might be useful: Rare Plants

RE: Mediterranean Peonies

Thanks, Maifleur! I'll check them out.

I just visited a friend of mine that has hundreds of peonies in his garden, including dozens of Itoh hybrids (he also has a few for sale). It was amazing how well they're growing, and the Itoh hybrids were just stunning in their growth. I decided I couldn't live another day without one so I bought 2! LOL One of them is called Julia Rose (odd that, I have a rose called "Julia's Rose"), and the other one is Hillary. I got them planted today, they already have about 7 or 8 buds each. He said several of them often have a second flowering in the fall.
