moving peonies in june (I know it sucks!)

Last year I divided a friends peonies and gave some of the extras to a friend of mine. As it turns out his girlfirend got pregnant shortly thereafter and they will be moving when their lease is up, sometime around june. he want to bring the plants with him but he will have to move them when he moves.

what are the odds of these 3 little ones (2 are too small to bloom this year and the 3rd has one flower bud on it) surviving?

I told him to cut the flower bud off of the potential bloomer and when he moves them to their new home to water them in well and water them every few days for the first month or so. not a big water, just enough to get the dirt around them a bit wet.

Is there anything else that you guys can think of that might help their chances. it's not a big deal if they don't survive, I can get more, I just would hate to see them die because of bad timing.

Thanks!
