So I am thinking about planting some Peonies in front of my Limelight hydrangea hedge (and I specify Limelight since their requirements are very similar to peony)in the future. It would be in full sun so both plants would have the proper light requirements.

I ask because I am not sure if the root systems from the hydrangea would negatively impact the peony or is just additional watering for the peony would sufficiently support the plant?

I thought the late spring blooming of the peony followed by the later summer of the hydrangea would keep a nice clean balance of blooms throughout the year.

Any thoughts?
