moving peonies

I live in eastern massachusetts and my peonies are coming up nicely for the 2nd year now. my question is: they are not in a place where i want them now that i see their habits and also what i'm doing with my yard. can i transplant them now,after bloom,or in the fall? also would they do well up against the house facing west? it's a very hot spot all afternoon. Thanks

If you can wait, move them in fall as they are going dormant. They should do okay west-facing. Make sure they get watered regularly in the new spot that first year to get them established.
