Tree Peonies in Florida

I thought some of you, especially in the deep south might be interested in this. I bought some tree peonies last spring to see how they would do here on the boundary of Zone 8B-9A, about 40 miles SW of Gainesville, FL. I grew them in pots all of last year, pulled off any remaining leaves left in October (I've been told doing this forces dormancy) and planted them out in my garden in February of this year. They are beginning to leaf out now. P Black Pirate has four 3/8" flower buds, P. Rimpoh has two 1/8" flower buds and P Taiyo has five 1/2" flower buds. They get morning sun and broken high afternoon sun from a southern red oak. I'm excited and will watch them closely as they develop further.
