First year peony blooms!

Posted by RFA2010 none (My Page) on

Just thought I'd share my progress. I bought about 7 bare roots from a local peony farm and planted all 7 in pots in the fall. Coral Supreme has 4 blooms of which 2 have opened (see picture). Mr Ed also has a small bloom and one other of the ones I chose has a small bloom (can't remember which one)

I heard its difficult or rare to get blooms in the first year so this is very very exciting for me!! Yay!

Congratulations! Isn't Coral Supreme a beautiful bloom? I have that one, too, but it's only an inch or so above the ground and it's snowing again....I'm beginning to think we're not going to have a spring this year!

Wow, the petal edges look like silk. What a stunning photo.

RFA 2010 a very healthy and happy plant, congratulations. Your post would be even better if your address gave a clue to your location. Try removing the "none" and replacing it with your zone. Al
