Sorry, doesn't sound good with Fernleaf being an older plant. I have only had my Fernleafs 2 years, and they are the first ones up. I like seeing their funny shapes, look like the Russian Fur hats with bud in center. Mine are showing color now, in central MI, near Lansing.

Was it really wet in your area? I did worry about mine getting drowned with all the Fall wet and now wet again. Just an idea, wet might have molded or just drowned the tubers.

Hope I am wrong, they are just slow. Have you tried pulling the leaf cover or dirt topping back a little? Make it easier for sprouts to get thru.

I just moved all the soil and can't even find a rotted bulb. I think I know what happened after you said about it being too wet. I had put some mulch over the area in the fall and I bet it kept the moisture in and it rotted. I could kick myself now but its too late. I was so looking forward to seeing it bloom for the first time. Thank you for answering my post as now I can stop looking for it.
