Actually lutea's are mentioned but in the context of Japanese and Chinese varieties. You have to know the leaf structure and parentage to know if Lutea or other.

Saunders Many hide their flowers in the foliage. Unless you have a raised area that you can plant the tp hard to see flowers. More of his herbaceous should be on the market in the next year or so.

Daphnis Flowers mostly above foliage. Named after gods and goddess's. If you see one with that type of name is Daphnis. Hard to find other than common ones. Peonyman is attempting to aquire all of them. He has a source for quite a few but person does not graft and is in ill health.

Reath Does a few tp but mostly intersectionals. All of his plants are very expensive so less likely to be found in the average gardeners bed.

Seidl Does wonderful stuff. Sent seeds overseas several years ago but because of import rules hard to import without spending lots of $$$. You can find some of his on the market but you must know his breeding to locate.

For some reason, probably the hiding of the flowers, many lutea's have fallen from favor to the rocki's. Since I am a all season person I like the lutea's because their basic structure is nice even in winter. The leaves of some turn fantastic colors in fall. Think bronze, gold, red, and wine. Since their foliage is thicker than many they sometimes shade other plants at their base leaving a bare spot that many gardeners do not like. To get around this annuals should be planted in the drip line.
