How do I ship cut peonies from Pa. to Cal.?

Hi all.

I'm new at this but would like to ship some cut peonies from Pa to Cal because my boys are living there. I understand they cannot raise peonies along the coast of Cal because it is not cold enough.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks for your response.
Barry

I know that you can cut peonies when the bud is just beginning to show some color, dip the cut end in parafein (sp) and store them in the fridge until you want to put them in a vase, and they'll finish opening. Maybe do that, and ship in a box with some of those disposable cool packs? Then the boys could just make a fresh cut and stick them in water.
Good luck,
Brenda
